Lest we never forget the cost to attain it, nor the diligence to sustain it.
Addendum: It is hard to fathom in this day and age of any-thing-goes television, with media outlets giving way to the lowest subterfuge to attract viewers regardless of how small an audience. That here, in the U.S., on the day of this nation’s celebration of independence not one, repeat, not one cable channel or otherwise is carrying the parade in the nation’s capital. Not even the government channels!
Think of the endless veterans and families alone that made, and continue to make, the ability for us to even have such a day that would, at the least, enjoyed viewing it.
What a disgrace, regardless of one’s political viewpoint.
